The Durham Association of Boys and Girls Clubs are proud to announce that we have been honoured with The Queens Award for Voluntary Service 2021.  The Queen’s Award is considered “the MBE for volunteer groups" and is the highest accolade a voluntary group can receive in the UK which recognises outstanding work done in their own local communities.

This award is the first of its kind to go to a full member of the National Association of Boys and Girls Clubs across the UK.

Throughout this last challenging year, DABGC and volunteers have adapted services in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The support from our amazing volunteers has ensured that DABGC has continued to support all of its 75 member clubs and organisations throughout the year and for this, we are truly grateful.

As Chair of the Association, I would like to say "this award is a great honour for the Association, it reflects the hard work and dedication over many years from all our staff and volunteers.  The sports and activities they have provided for young people have produced world-class athletes and champions. They are our future and this award is for them all."

The Association will continue to offer quality services, events and activities through our annual County and National programme and we look forward to continuing our positive programme for many years to come.
